I love good mysteries and painting continues to open up new ways of looking at things, people and life in general. Each painting is a process with clues as to what will work. Sometimes, even though the clues are there, it remains a mystery. Sometimes solving or resolving the next step in the process is crystal clear, when a stroke or an idea of how to proceed provides a direction as to what will work, leaving it up to me to resolve why it works. What stroke did I use, what color combination or texture caused the effect, always leaving me with the desire to learn and paint more.
